RUNNING GAIT ANALYSIS

I am in negotiations with RUN TRU in Duke Street, Truro, a shop specializing in running shoes (take the left fork in Boscawen Street, past Lakeland, and it on the right opposite Zafiroís) to run a gait analysis workshop using their state of the art technology treadmill with screen, for any athletes who are interested. A physio will also be on hand and there is no pressure to buy from them. The date: is not yet finalized but will probably be a Monday evening. Finalized news of this will go out ASAP

ATHLETICS ACADEMY COUNTY TRAINING

Two more dates remain on the calendar

SUNDAY 17TH FEBRUARY at Carn Brea 10.30am Athletes pay £2 and the county make up the difference. PLEASE ENCOURAGE YOUR OVER 15 ATHLETES TO COME ALONG. One training session that may not exactly be in your plan will not do any harm, and it is always refreshing for an athlete to experience another coach for a change.

SUNDAY 24TH MARCH at Par will include Under 15ís, so we need as many coaches as possible please. This will be the prelude to the first track and field completion at Plymouth Brickfields on 7th April and Par the following weekend.

DAN HEAVY THROWS WORKSHOP

Being held at Carn Brea on Easter Saturday and free to DAN members. Coaches are invited to bring along one or two athletes. Full information is attached on a separate flyer

DANGER OF CARN BREA CLOSURE

You may have already heard that Cornwall Council are trying to push ahead with the sale of Carn Brea running track to facilitate what is generally believed to be an ASDA supermarket, the alternative venues they are suggesting at Camborne School or Par are just not acceptable, and if this goes ahead then something near to 500 athletes will suffer, not to mention the loss of an amenity for the athletes of the future. Some letters have already gone out from parents and club members to their local councilors or MPís, but the more the merrier. PLEASE just take the trouble to find your councilor on www.cornwall.gov.uk website and voice a complaint, regardless of whether you use the facility regularly or not, it is part of the county athletics setup and of great importance.
